Expensive stickers and pro tennis

Tuesday is a "get it done" day. So that's just what I did today.

I felt pretty accomplished this morning. I finished editing 2 shoots, packaged 3 shoots up (with Lindsey's help), went to the post office, took Linz to the library, went to the bank, got my tag renewed, and my tires balanced. My car drives smooth again. Yay!

I did something for the first time today. I payed $105 for a sticker. I have never been into stickers that much, so for me, this was a little much ;) BUT! It means I can drive my car. AND it is pink, so that part is good.

And today I realize that I could be a pro tennis player. Yes, I'm kidding. But my sisters and I had fun whacking the ball around. We pretended we knew a little something anyway. Sadly there isn't a picture to show for it.

This is Lindsey helping me my life together this morning. What would I do without sisters?

What did you do on this beautiful day??

Surprise, surprise!!

My sister Katelyn had a birthday last Thursday. It was the big 21, so I thought we should do a little surprise party! After changing the time/dates a million times (why is it so hard to coordinate schedules??) we finally found one day that would actually work!

So on Tuesday, I told her I was going to take her out for lunch (which really was the original plan...ya know before we resorted to plan z). She babysat in the morning, so I buzzed around trying to get everything ready.

The girls called saying they were close to the house, so I rushed her upstairs for a "video interview" of her birthday. I know it's weird...but it was the only thing I could think of to get her upstairs in a hurry.

Anyway, it was a success! She was surprised, we ordered a bunch a pizza, and we all had a blast!

Happy birthday, kit kat!

Lindsey :: Portraits

I have my very own model.'s great. If I ever want to try something new out, I always go to Lindsey's room and try to snag her for a bit. She's usually a great sport about it! Especially that one time I dressed her up as a bride.

On this particular day, my Expo Disk had arrived, and I was sooo ready to try it out! Oh, and she had just gotten this awesome haircut...and when you get a haircut like that, you HAVE to have pictures of it! And yes, I might be more obsessed with her hair than she is ;-) See, I told you she was a good sport.

Oh...and she's really pretty too. Goodness...this is the kid who used to roll her eyes at me when I changed my outfit 10 times before church because they just didn't look right. "Who cares what you look like Hailey??" Now she wears makeup and all of that stuff. No babies in our house anymore!

Get 'er done!

Every week I make a "to-do" list. It's for both business and personal things. As the week goes on, I add more and more to the list as things come to mind. It usually ends up being incredibly long, and I don't always get them all done. Sometimes they get pushed to the next week. But at least this way I can remember everything that needs to be done.

The only problem is....when things don't get done, it bothers me. Like a lot. Sometimes I'll spend hours working at something, then look at my list and there are still a bazillion things left. Then I just want to quit it all together.

Today was that day. I had a lot of extra little things happening this week, and because of that, my productivity level was pretty much at zero. So this morning I sat down at my desk determined to conquer the list. Sooo many things have been accomplished (including taxes. YAY!), but there is still so much more. That's ok. It'll happen.

so hey...take a look at some things that HAVE been accomplished...and I'm pretty excited about them!

I've been wanting to get large pictures printed for a LONG time. I finally got some! These are 16x20 prints that are going to go on the wall in my room. I have two 16x24's that i printed to go in my office (for when I get a change to make it awesome!). I think EVERYONE needs to get big prints made. It's really exciting.

Inspiration books. I started one when I was at a workshop last year, but it doesn't inspire me anymore. My style and the things I like have changed since then. So I started over. And now I LOVE it!

Business goals and brainstorming. This is hard for me to do. Because it means sitting still and taking time to focus and think. But I did it! And it was quite successful (and fun!).

Now it's time for me to get changed out of my pajamas, and to go to the elementary school for Good News Club! Have a happy afternoon everyone!

Johnny and Erika :: Engaged

Amazing river, wide open green fields, huge trees, and old trucks. I was pretty pumped about this shoot! I'd never been to the location before, but when Erika told me that Johnny was going to bring his old truck to the shoot, I was sold right then and there!

I had such a great time hanging out with this awesome couple! They were up to try anything...including wading in the freezing cold water! The have so much love and respect for each other, and it was truly an honor to photograph them!
